Rovena M. Harrison

Rovena M. Harrison, 97, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Indianapolis. She was born November 30, 1928, in North Vernon, Indiana to Glen and Edith (More) Sweany.

Rovena worked retail sales jobs in jewelry and ladies’ departments. She enjoyed meeting people during her sales career. She was a member of the Acton Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 173. She traveled throughout the state and surrounding states with her husband Beryl participating in many Eastern Star ceremonies. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Rovena is survived by her sons Douglas Harrison, Sr. and Randy Harrison both of Fortville, grandchildren Brandon (Lisa) Staker, Hayley (Mike) O’Reilly, Tess (Jonny) Sylvester and Kara (Brad) Overton, 16 great-grandchildren, brother Victor (Betty) Sweany and daughter-in-law Karen Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband Beryl Harrison, son Mark Harrison, grandsons Carey Hanson and Doug Harrison, Jr., sisters Virginia Phillips and Dorothy Pounders and daughter-in-law Myla Harrison.

A funeral to celebrate Rovena’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Seals Funeral Home 122 W. Staat Street Fortville, IN 46040. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, Indiana.
